Hello Wastewater Professionals,
First, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our members and the Western Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control
Association past Presidents, our Executive Board, Committee Chairs, Co-chairs,
Committee Members, Association Members, our Exhibitors, and Sponsors, all for
their dedication to advancing our mission.
News from our first 2026 planning meeting, the executive
board, committee chairs, and committee members got to work during our November
21st Planning Meeting for 2026. The group is planning five Plant
Tours for 2026. Please save the dates for these Plant Tours! They are all
Fridays, April 18th, May 16th, July 18th, September 19th,
and October 17th where there will be a luncheon and business meeting
after each plant tour. Each meeting wraps up with door prizes and 50/50 raffle.
Our Program Committee has been working to schedule our plant tour locations,
and the committee has three locations already currently booked. We are
targeting to have all published by the end of February 2026.
Great news, our membership grew approximately 8% in 2025.
Thanks to everyone who made that possible. We are hoping all our members can
help grow our membership in 2026. Membership renewals and new registrations are
available online on our website www.wpwpca.org, hit
the MENU tab and proceed to Join Now. Please share with your colleagues.
Two Sporting Clay Shoot Events are being planned by our
Clay Shoot Committee for 2026 and targeting our first event in April 2026. A second
event is in the works for the fall. Stay tuned for these great outdoor event details.
The Clay Shoots provide opportunity to socialize before the event over morning
coffee and donuts or afterwards where lunch will be served. The Clay Shoots are
super fun, challenging, and enjoyable for beginners and seasoned pros alike. Equipment
rentals are available. The Clay Shoots support our WPWPCA Scholarship Fund.
The WPWPCA has two fun events currently being planned for
August 2026. The annual WPWPCA Golf Outing, also supporting the WPWPCA
Scholarship Fund and the WPWPCA Family Picnic. Both the Golf Outing Committee
and the Picnic Committee are working out the details of these fun events. Stay
tuned for the details coming soon.
More news to follow soon!
Wishing you and yours the best Holiday Season and a Very
Happy and Successful New Year!
Together, let us continue to lead with purpose, reach out
to others to expand our membership, and continue making a lasting impact on the
future of water quality in Western Pennsylvania.
With gratitude,
Scott Hinsch
