Ricardo F. Gilson Biography

 

Rick is a 1974 graduate of Edinboro University where he majored in biology and holds a 1978 Masters Degree from West Virginia University. While at WVU, his studies were concentrated in the area of aquatic biology. After leaving WVU, Rick took a temporary position with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, as a field biologist, in New Jersey. Upon leaving the Fish & Wildlife Service, Rick accepted a Park Naturalist position with the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks.
In 1980, Rick transferred to the Department of Environmental Resource's, Bureau of Waste Management Program. For the subsequent 10 years, he worked his way through the ranks and in 1990 became the Bureau of Waste Management's, Compliance and Monitoring Manager in the Department's Meadville office. In January of 2002, Rick accepted the position of Water Management Program Manager in the Department's Meadville office.
Rick resides in Meadville with his wife, Jane, and daughter, Kate. In his spare time, Rick assists in the management of his family's timber resources in Erie County. When time allows, he can be found flyfishing for trout anywhere across the United States or southern Canada or can be found practicing wildlife photography.
