David A. Brown
David is currently the Manager of Wastewater Education at the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN). He began his career there in 1985 as a Shift Operation Engineer, working his way up to Shift Superintendent. In 1993, He was promoted to Liquid Process Superintendent and in 1997, became Manager of Operations to 2002. Prior to joining ALCOSAN, David worked for the Borough of Penndel, PA at their
300, 000 gpd WWTP, and for Princeton AquaScience, an environmental testing laboratory, in Edison, N. J..
A graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA, David moved on to Penn State University and graduated in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Environmental Resource Management, specializing in Water Pollution Control.
He is a Pennsylvania State Board Certified Wastewater Treatment System Operator with Classes A, E & Sub-Classes 1,2,3,4. In his spare time, Dave works for the PA DEP as a Technical Assistance Specialist, and as an instructor of wastewater courses for The Community College of Allegheny County and for PH Environmental Services, Inc..

Dave is a city boy who lives with his wife, Shirley, and their 2 children in the Stanton Heights area of Pittsburgh (near the zoo). He loves to hack around any golf course that will take him, and in the winter he likes to ice skate and do a little skiing.
