Lisa Cortazzo Biography

 

Lisa L. Cortazzo began her career at Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) in June 2001 as the Manager of Loss Control. Her responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe and secure working environment and educating employees on safe work practices. ALCOSAN is the largest secondary process wastewater treatment facility in the Ohio Valley with permitted processing up to 250 million gallons of wastewater per day.

She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Safety Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining ALCOSAN, she had 15 years of safety experience working for a natural gas utility and as a safety consultant.

Lisa has been an active member of the Western Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Association since 2002. Currently, she is the Treasurer of the Western Section and sits on the Safety, Budget & Finance, and Golf Outing committees. Lisa is also a member of the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association and the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Lisa and her husband Tim reside in Irwin, PA, with their two children. Their son Tim attends the University of Toledo where he is a wide receiver for the Toledo Rockets and their daughter Tay is a sophomore at Penn Trafford High School where she helped the Lady Warrior Basketball Team win the Section l – AAAA Championship.
